Booking your first English lesson can feel uncomfortable. Will you be tested? Will you be embarrassed by your mistakes? In a good first lesson, neither happens. This is what a first private lesson looks like, so you know exactly what to expect.
You choose a time, and whether you prefer to meet in person or online. You will also be asked a few short questions: why you want to learn English, how much you use it today and any deadline you have, such as an exam or a new job. This helps the tutor prepare for you instead of using a generic lesson.
| Time | What happens |
|---|---|
| Minutes 0 to 10 | A relaxed conversation about you, your goals, your work or studies and what frustrates you about English. |
| Minutes 10 to 30 | A friendly level check: speaking, listening, and a little reading and writing. There is no pass or fail, it only shows where to start. |
| Minutes 30 to 50 | A mini lesson on your most useful next step, for example pronunciation of one sound, a set of real-life phrases or a grammar pattern that keeps causing mistakes. |
| Minutes 50 to 60 | Your plan: your level, how often to meet, what to practise before the next lesson and answers to your questions. |
Fluenti's first lesson follows exactly this format, and every session after it comes with written notes in your student account. Read about learning English in Marrakech, compare with how to choose a tutor and what it should cost or go straight to booking a trial.
Yes. Complete beginners are welcome. The lesson is mostly in simple English, with French or Darija used to explain when it helps.
A trial session is 60 minutes, in person in Gueliz or Hivernage, or online on Google Meet.
Yes, from age 12, with the parents' agreement.
A paid trial is a real diagnostic lesson, not a sales call. You leave with a clear picture of your level, your goals and a suggested plan, even if you decide not to continue.
